What is Kaiju Noir? 
Kaiju Noir is a visual novel written like a pulp-fiction novel of the early 20th century. Based in an underground city of giant monsters it follows the story of the city's only detective agency and the deadly case that arrives at their door one night. It's also queer as fuck and unapologetically political (far-far left).

So this is like [insert classic film noir movie] but with giant monsters? 
Yup! In its way at least. This isn't an beginning-to-end string of movie quotes, but the themes are very much present. Or maybe that's just how the main character sees it. 

Is this all just a metaphor? Is this a furry thing?
Yes and maybe. Maybe and yes. That's all up to the player to decide.

What platforms will it be available on? 
Kaiju Noir is on Itch.io, available for PC, Mac, Linux & Android.

Why not other platforms? 
Limited resources mostly. Other platforms (like steam & switch) require a lot of extra work & often money to launch a game on, and aren't particularly welcoming places to marginalised indie devs. We like Itch, so that's where we're going.

What does it cost?
$10US will get you the full game, soundtrack & concept art pages of the characters. If you'd already supported the demo for $5US or more before release you'll also be getting a copy. Our way of saying thanks for believing in us 😊

Why are you charging for it? (X game) is free, why isn't this one?
Because making games is never free. It takes time, money & emotion to create something, and we live in a broken capitalist society that forces us to work within it. If you enjoy someone's work and you've the resources to support the creators please do. <3 

How long does it take to play? 
Full play time is around two to three hours, depending on your reading speed, there's also enough content for at least a second playthrough if you want the full experience.

Are there any content warnings? 
Kaiju Noir contains graphic violence, discussions of trauma, descriptions of death and a non-violent drugging scene. This game is not intended for minors.

Can I stream it? 
Of course! Have fun with it. We just ask you keep an open mind and let us know when you plan to stream it so we can let others know & maybe check it out.

Will there be more? 
If this first game proves popular enough we definitely want there to be! We loved making this game, and the characters are all real important to us after more than a year of development, we've even got at least one sequel already loosely plotted.
