Hi folx,

It's been a couple of weeks since the last update so I wanted to let y'all know what we're up to.

The end of 2020 (and what a rough/weird/hell year it has been) for Kaiju Noir is all about nailing down that narrative. As the writer/developer I need to know where the story is going to end, what elements are at play, and what the player is going to get to do. And at the moment we're on course to finish the first draft by end of year.

In the last update I'd finished up with chapter eight, well last night I closed off chapter twelve, which I have to say was a biggie! Even I didn't know quite how things were going to go up until it was written so I hope y'all will get enjoyment out of it.

If I had to make an estimate I'd say a full playthrough of Kaiju Noir is going to take around 3-4 hours depending on how fast you read. There's also a few branching paths as well as things that only happen if you make certain choices (seemingly unimportant ones perhaps???), so if you're the completionist sort there's gonna be a decent amount of replayability.

What's left for the year?

As I said the first draft is all about making sure that direction is set so that when the extra paths go in nothing conflicts in the narrative. I've given myself three weeks to finish that first draft, though knowing me I'll have it done in two days out of kaiju stubbornness, haha.

Anyway, it's been a heavy week, so I'm gonna take some down time and unwind.
